About

To love another person is to see the face of God

Les Miserables, Musical

This blog and the befriending service that I run were started to celebrate my Irish English friend who taught me that age must never be a barrier to experiencing friendship, road trips and fun conversation.

We met when I was 18 and she was close to 60. While I lived in England, I was able to visit her often.

We’d talk, watch TV together, argue, hahaha and cook or go out to eat.

The years wore on and we kept in touch via telephone since I had moved back to my home country.

My friend had lonely days as she grew older. What with most of her family living far away, and many of her friends now gone.

Every now and then as we spoke on the phone she’d share an anecdote from her somewhat crazy life. Many times I was intensely aware of the privilege of being the one that got to hear that.

The blog is a collection of stories and events whose participants are from across many generations

Almost all my connections are through referrals but if you or a loved one would like information on the befriending service, please do get in touch
